Anshul Malhotra operates within the shadows of the state; his mind is a filing cabinet of past failures and aviation schematics. He carries the ghost of his mother like a heavy overcoat, a weight that fuels his obsession with the sky. When the fifth flight in seven years is diverted to Lahore, the pressure cooker of Indian politics begins to hiss. Anshul relies on his encyclopedic knowledge of previous disasters to predict the terrorists' next move. He leans into his defining vice, an arrogance born of superior data, and forces his way into the inner circle of power. The cost of failure is the total erasure of national dignity and the lives of hundreds.
