Francis Bartek (Gérard Jugnot), a widowed Monegasque contractor and millionaire, has had enough of his three adult but dependent children living off him after suffering a heart attack. With the help of his right-hand man, Ferrucio (François Morel), he decides to teach his spoiled offspring a lesson and fakes a personal bankruptcy, complete with a staged raid over an alleged tax offense. The work-shy and bossy Stella (Camille Lou), Philippe (Artus) - who's eager to invest but lacks any business sense - and the womanizer and perpetual student Alexandre (Louka Meliava) find themselves forced to go into hiding with their father in his dilapidated family home near Marseille. In light of their family's dire situation, Francis sends his three offspring out to look for work. And so the quarrelsome trio is soon weaned off their former luxurious lifestyle as they work as waiters, bike taxi drivers, and construction workers. However, when Stella's money-hungry fiancee Juan Carlos (Tom Leeb) tracks down the family in hiding and sees through Francis's charade, the entrepreneur is in danger of being exposed due to an extortion attempt by his unloved future son-in-law.
