Betriek lives with her daughter and elderly parents beside a peat bog where strange discoveries begin unsettling the surrounding community. After a series of violent incidents reach her own home, she joins an archaeologist investigating preserved bodies and old local legends that appear tied to her family. Each discovery pushes the past closer to the present as folklore, buried history, and recurring violence begin overlapping. Betriek struggles to protect the people she loves while confronting a pattern that stretches across generations and refuses to loosen its grip.
