Netflix started in 1997 as a DVD-by-mail service founded by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph, pivoted to streaming in 2007 and kicked off the originals era with House of Cards in 2013. Today it is the world's largest streaming service with over 300 million subscribers, known for big-budget originals across every genre and language — from Stranger Things to Squid Game.
